Regular Season Round 16: Igokea - Split 92-87

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked BosnianIgokea (11-6) defeated 11th ranked Croatian Split (6-10) in Aleksandrovac 92-87 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Igokea made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Igokea outrebounded Split 34-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Igokea especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American point guard Bryce Jones (183-1994, college: Murray St.) who scored that evening 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and the other American import center Terrell Carter II (208-1996, college: Fresno St.) supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Igokea players scored in double figures. Igokea's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 19 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists by American Shannon Shorter (193-1989, college: N.Texas) did not help to save the game for Split . Forward David Skara (203-1995, college: Clemson) added 26 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Igokea have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Bosnian champion maintains fifth position with 11-6 record. Loser Split keeps the eleventh place with ten games lost.
